Full job description
We are looking for pet lovers with experience working with pets in a casual or professional setting. Someone who is looking for additional income, enjoys a flexible and adventurous lifestyle, and someone who wants to spend more time doing work they are passionate about.
We are specifically looking for someone who has the availability for some of the following date ranges caring for pets in our clients’ homes:
Various nights and weekends throughout the year, and some major holidays.
November 26th, 2024-November 29th, 2024
December 23rd, 2024-December 27th, 2024
December 30th, 2024- January 2nd, 2025
You may also do initial client meet and greets, and if you’re available for them, there would be an opportunity to provide visits and dog walks.
Pack Leaders ATL is Atlanta's premiere luxury pet concierge team. We provide dependable and reliable dog walking, cat care, and pet sitting services. Our team members are all background checked and trained to provide only exceptional care for every pet. We are compassionate and dedicated, and are looking for like minded individuals. We go to our clients home’s for all of their pet care needs including visits and/or overnights while they are out of town or out for a long day. We take care of dogs, cats, and sometimes other types of small animals. We’re growing and looking for more good people to join our team and support our wonderful clients in-town Atlanta. This includes Midtown, West Midtown, Morningside, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Peachtree Hills, Edgewood, Kirkwood, and more!
What the job entails:
Overnight stays in the client’s home ranging from 1 night to 2 weeks
Providing visits and walks as your schedule allows
Driving to and from client homes
Meet and greets with clients, or shadowing other pet sitters to meet the pets
Walking dogs on leash (and off at yours and the client’s comfort level), on pavement, hills, parks and busy streets
Cleaning of pets after walk if they become dirty
Playing/interacting with pets to keep them engaged
Feeding pets, refreshing water, and administering medications as needed
Cleaning of litter boxes
Picking up and disposing of pet waste, and cleaning up any other messes as needed.
Plant care in addition to pet care for overnights
Mail/paper pickup
Clean up after self and pet(s) when in client’s home, including wash and put clean sheets back on the bed prior to end of overnight
Following specific care instructions provided by pet owner
Confidentiality and respect of clients’ personal homes and safety- no unapproved by client additional visitors
Sending detailed updates with photos to clients via our mobile app
Communicating with the Pack Leaders Staff
Required Skills/Abilities:
Pet/animal lover
Experience working with pets in a casual or professional setting
Friendly and clear verbal and written communication
Ability to build relationships with clients and pets to ensure mutual satisfaction
Monitoring pet behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the pet owner promptly.
Engage in playtime and exercise activities to keep pets active and happy.
Maintain accurate records of pet care routines and any special instructions from pet owners.
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
Flexible scheduling including evening, weekend, and holiday availability (holiday compensation provided)
Ability to work independently, efficiently, and with consistency
Ability to problem solve in a variety of pet care, transportation, and home related situations
Reliable transportation (your own vehicle)
Must have a smartphone for scheduling and communication with clients
Must be willing and able to learn and use the Slack and Time to Pet apps
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two years of pet care experience is preferred.
Previous pet care experience (pet sitting, dog walking, vet tech, training, doggy daycare, and/or kennel tech, etc)
Comfortable with all breeds of dogs. Experience with a wide range of animal temperaments is desired.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and control up to a max of 4 dogs at a time
Ability to lift up to 30-40lbs at times
Ability to perform pet care services in inclement weather (rain, snow, fog, etc)
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal
Pay: $300.00 - $1,500.00 per month
